Please join Ars Nova Workshop for the Philadelphia debut of UK drummer, composer, and producer Tom Skinner, a driving force in London’s dynamic underground music scene for over two decades.

An original member of the award-winning ensemble Sons of Kemet, Skinner has long collaborated with bandleader Shabaka Hutchings, helping to define a new era of British jazz. He’s also one-third of The Smile, the critically acclaimed trio with Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead.

In 2022, Skinner released his first solo album under his own name, Voices of Bishara, a deeply expressive and rhythmically rich recording issued by International Anthem, in collaboration with Brownswood Recordings and Nonesuch Records. The album showcases his compositional voice—fluid, emotive, and harmonically layered. Over the years, Skinner has lent his versatility and creative vision to collaborations with artists across genres, including Meshell Ndegeocello, David Byrne, Grace Jones, Jarvis Cocker, Kano, Matthew Herbert, Mulatu Astatke, Floating Points, Beth Orton, Alabaster DePlume, and Zero 7.
