Ars Nova Workshop presents the mesmerizing trio of Thomas Strønen, Eivind Opsvik, and Anna Webber at Solar Myth on Saturday, June 14.

The trio of Thomas Strønen (drums), Eivind Opsvik (bass), and Anna Webber (saxophone, flute) unites three forward-thinking artists whose individual discographies span the vanguard of contemporary jazz and improvised music. Strønen, known for his atmospheric work with Food (ECM) and collaborations with Iain Ballamy and Christian Fennesz, brings a richly textural rhythmic palette; Opsvik, leader of the long-running Overseas project, blends melodic invention with an exploratory spirit shaped by his New York collaborations with Tony Malaby and Nate Wooley; and Webber, a composer-performer celebrated for projects like Clockwise and her work with Matt Mitchell and Dan Peck, brings structural rigor and a fearless sense of abstraction. Together, their interplay folds these influences into a spacious, dynamic sound—balancing intuitive improvisation with a deep sensitivity to form, tone, and detail.
