Ars Nova Workshop presents the visionary multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Nate Mercereau with his new project Fantastic Thoughts at Solar Myth on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

In a remarkably short time, the Los Angeles-based artist Nate Mercereau has amassed a dizzying catalogue of solo releases, collaborations, and production, writing and instrumentation credits. He was an integral part of the cadre of inventive musicians involved in André 3000’s seminal New Blue Sun, and has partaken in numerous collaborations with musician/producer/all around luminary Carlos Niño, who will join Mercereau at Solar Myth.

Even before those notable efforts, Mercereau was heavily immersed in the Bay Area Music scene circa 2006-2012; toured extensively with legendary drummer Sheila E; and has lent his craftsman’s touch (as a producer, songwriter and player) to recordings by artists as prominent and disparate as Leon Bridges, King Princess, Lizzo, Jay Z, The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes, No ID and Sade, Tom Misch, John Legend, P!nk, and A$AP Rocky. His latest release, Fantastic Thoughts, offers the latest development in his uniquely cosmic take on “Progressive Music,” at once paying homage to and transcending the traditional lineages of jazz fusion and prog rock to arrive at what he has called a “Now Zone of Infinite Freedom.”
