Ars Nova Workshop is thrilled to present another installment of Marshall Allen – still navigating the spaceways past his centennial – and his Ghost Horizons unit at Solar Myth on Monday, June 23.

This month’s Ghost Horizons features a rare convergence of genre-defying improvisers. Legendary guitarist and producer Arto Lindsay (DNA, Lounge Lizards, John Zorn) brings his singular history of tropicalia, noise, and avant-punk. The ensemble also features Melvin Gibbs (Ronald Shannon Jackson, Rollins Band, Sonny Sharrock); DMHOTEP, longtime Arkestra guitarist; and Mikel Patrick Avery, best known for his work in Natural Information Society. Together, they orbit Allen’s radiant force, forging ecstatic new soundscapes that stretch beyond jazz, noise, funk, and the farthest reaches of the known universe.
