Charlie Hall’s Invisible Ink

Two-night residency

Sat., June 8 - Sold out
Sun., June 9, 8PM

Ars Nova Workshop presents the return of The War on Drugs drummer Charlie Hall, celebrating the release of his all-star solo deep listening project Invisible Ink at Solar Myth on June 8-9, 2024.

In addition to his work with the Grammy-winning The War on Drugs, Hall has led the Miles Davis project Get Up With It and performed with Sun Ra Arkestra bandleader Marshall Allen at Solar Myth, but the release of Invisible Ink in May 2023 marked Hall’s solo debut. The album explores lush, entrancing, and hypnotic cinematic soundscapes that feature performances from artist friends from all over the globe, the title of each song evoking a physical place that inspired the composer.

For this special performance Hall will convene a remarkable group of friends and collaborators from Philadelphia and beyond, including The War On Drugs bandmates Dave Hartley, Anthony LaMarca, and Robbie Bennett; drummer Nazir Ebo, now a member of Joshua Redman’s ensemble; International Anthem recording artist Daniel Villarreal; Killiam Shakespeare co-founder Corey Bernhard; and acclaimed vocalist Rosali.
