Adegoke Steve Colson’s Universal Generations

Ars Nova Workshop presents the Universal Generations Trio led by legendary pianist and early AACM member Adegoke Steve Colson, at Solar Myth on Friday, October 27.

Pianist Adegoke Steve Colson has been proudly associated with the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) for most of his storied career, and continues to create in the pioneering spirit of its boundary and genre-defiant philosophy. Colson’s Universal Unity Trio unites him with two younger musicians who represent that same innovative outlook: bassist Luke Stewart and drummer Tcheser Holmes, both of the Philadelphia-born quintet Irreversible Entanglements. They’ll be joined for this performance by Colson’s wife and long-time collaborator, vocalist and AACM-member Iqua Colson.
