Kjetil Møster, tenor saxophone
Rolf-Erik Nystrøm, alto saxophone
Eirik Hegdal, baritone + alto saxophones
Per Zanussi, double-bass
Per Oddvar Johansen, percussion

Zanussi Five consists of five strong players from the new, fresh generation of Norwegian Jazz: three of the hottest sax players in Norway with one of the most exciting and interesting rhythm sections play compositions by band leader Per Zanussi. The result is an extrovert and slightly surrealist mix of swinging grooves, energetic free jazz and beautiful melodies.

Per Zanussi is one of the most engaging bass players/composers on the Norwegian improv/jazz scene. In addition to Zanussi 5 he plays with MZN3, Jon Eberson Trio, Raymond Strid/Martin Kuchen and Crimetime Orchestra, as well as with Sten Sandell, Marylin Crispell, Paal Nilssen-Love, Håvard Wiik, David Stackenäs, and Thomas Strønen. Kjetil Møster is a member of The Core, Gibrish, MZN3, Datarock and King Midas. He was also voted "International jazz talent of the year" in 2006 by the IAJE/IJFO. Rolf Erik Nystrøm is classically trained and plays, in addition to being a soloist with chamber ensembles and orchestras, with Poing, Maja Rajtke, Hero and his own solo project. Eirik Hegdal has led the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra for the last several years, performing with Joshua Redman, among others. Hegdal also plays with Brat, Dingobats and Skomsork. Per Oddvar Johansen has been one of Norway's leading drummers for the last 15 years, performing with bands like Close Erase, Trygve Seim Orchestra, The Source, and Christian Wallurød (ECM Records).
