Ars Nova Workshop is thrilled to present the first of two back-to-back nights for which we will be celebrating the 70th birthday of Dave Burrell, one of the most influential and creative North American jazz pianists.  For this occasion, Burrell will be joined by William Parker and Sabir Mateen!

Please join Ars Nova Workshop for a very rare performance by this legend of Japan's noise scene and arguably the most important noise artist, Merzbow!  Tonight Merzbow will be joined by Hungarian drummer Balázs Pándi with an opening set by Charles Cohen.

Ars Nova Workshop is pleased to present this special performance by Andy Laster's Sounds of Cairo, an all-star quartet with Erik Friedlander, Kermit Driscoll, and Curtis Hasselbring that performs songs inspired by Egyptian composers of the 1920s.

Ars Nova Workshop is thrilled to present this performance by Zs, an emerging NYC group of avant-explorers who defy categories and are pushing experimental music in new directions.  The opening set will feature a duo performance by Phillip Greenlief and Mr. Bungle co-founder Trevor Dunn.
